Bethany Niedjalski
Bethany Niedjalski is an registered massage therapy (RMT) graduate from West Coast College of Massage Therapy. During her time at school, she participated in many outreaches, which included Canucks Place Children’s Hospice, BC Woman’s Hospital, UBC track and field and the MS clinic at the college to name a few. She has experience treating a wide range of conditions but takes a particular interesting in low back pain and tension headaches. As part of her multi-focal practice, Bethany believes in educating her patients to encourage them to become active participants in their therapy. She also believes in working together with her patients other health care providers to meet their goals.
Bethany does not currently work with Sunlife. Sunlife claims will not be reimbursed. She direct bills to Pacific Blue Cross and all other insurance plans will be reimbursed.

Tomomi Shibuya graduated from International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver. Tomomi’s quiet and gentle needling focuses on correcting the whole body imbalance. She often combines acupuncture and Moxa (herbal heat therapy) . Together they work deeply to relax stressed body and mind.
Moxa cones are made of the medicinal herb, mugwort. It’s placed on the skin and lit up to give quite pleasant warmth until it’s removed when 80-90% burned, thus leaving no burning sensation. A Japanese study shows Moxa treatment stimulates parasympathetic nerves(relaxing), and improves the movement of white blood cells, improves movement of white blood cells, enhances blood circulation and immunity.
For these properties acupuncture and Moxa treatment effectively treats various pains and inflammatory conditions such as allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, digestive complaints, gynaecological problems, anxiety and sleeping disorders and other dis-eases.
Tomomi works on Sundays 9:00 - 19:00, and on Tuesdays 9:30 - 15:00.

My main focus in establishing a therapeutic relationship is to help people reconnect with their bodies so that together we can assist the body in healing itself from the effects of repetitive strain, stress, grief, trauma, chronic pain and illness. I enjoy problem solving and finding the true source of discomfort and pain in the body as well as relieving the more obvious symptoms. I use various modalities such as Trigger point release, Cross fibre frictions, myofascial release, facet joint release, joint mobes/traction and cranial sacral therapy along with patience and tenacity. I believe it is in the best interest of the body to recover from therapeutic massage before receiving continued treatment, so I allow a minimum of 48 hours to pass between treatments.

Andrew Zhao RMT

Andrew graduated from the program of Registered Massage Therapy at Langara College in 2016. He also graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2009 with a BA (in Criminology and a minor in Psychology). He has had an interest in massage therapy after receiving treatments to help heal from a motor vehicle accident.
Andrew understands each patient presents in a unique way. His approach to therapy is to identify and treat the cause of dysfunction. Some of his techniques include myofascial and trigger point release, joint mobilizations, active therapy, and Swedish massage. He has experience in treating headaches, low back pain, piriformis syndrome, and pregnancy massage.
In Andrew’s spare time, he can be found working out in the gym, or spending time with his paw-friend.

Petra Jurcak
Petra Jurcak graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2009, and brought her practice to Balanced Anatomy in 2011. She treats with a gentle heart and strong hands. She uses her knowledge, experience, as well as her intuition, and focuses on the client’s well being first, then any condition they may be presenting with.
With her many years of experience treating many different patients, Petra has seen a plethora of different injuries, pains, and dysfunctions. She is well-versed in the safe and effective treatment of a very wide variety of physical concerns.
Petra’s professional and friendly manners allow clients to feel comfortable and confident in her treatments, and each session is suited to the client’s needs, whether it be a desire for relaxation, physical maintenance, or dealing with a new or old injury.
Petra finds joy in sharing her skills and knowledge with future RMTs as an educator at RMT colleges, and this passion extends to her clients through patient education. She also enjoys incorporating what she learned in her yoga teacher training program into many home exercise recommendations. Petra hopes to help clients discover ways that they could proactively improve their quality of movement.
Petra recently returned part time to Balanced Anatomy after taking time away from her RMT role here, and eventually starting a home practice with her existing clientele. She looks forward to meeting more people with whom she can collaborate, and potentially help in their own self care, and physical well being.

Marina Kuffner

Marina graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria. Marina has always had an interest in human anatomy and physiology, and grew up playing a variety of sports, which led her to discovering just how beneficial massage therapy can be for both injury recovery and general well-being.
Marina enjoys working with a variety of different concerns, with particular interest in sports and overuse injuries. Her treatment style has been described as intuitive, and focuses on the individual patient’s needs as they present. Marina incorporates a variety of techniques such as General Swedish Massage, trigger point release, and active and passive stretching and strengthening.

Dee MacNiven
After moving to Vancouver from Calgary, Dee graduated from VCMT IN 2015 after falling in love with the human body.
Previously working in an office for many years she understands how much of an effect the workplace can have on your body. Whether your visit is for relaxation, maintenence or injury. Dee works with you and your goals to find the source and gets you involved in your own healing process, finding this is key in long term recovery. She likes to give easy solutions to home stretches and strenghening, postural tips, and tips for home pain management.
Dee likes to combine relaxation with a little bit of that good pain. How this is achieved is individual for each client. Ash grew up in Victoria and earned a BA in English with a minor in Biochemistry before moving to Whistler for a decade. They gradually returned to their science roots, eventually joining the world of massage in a “pandemic pivot,” and graduating with Honours from VCMT in 2022.
Ash brings compassion, empathy, and an inquisitive mind to assessment and to designing individualized treatments. They recognize in particular the challenges posed by chronic conditions and they enjoy collaborating with clients on finding strategies to manage them. Gwyn Davies is an RMT and graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy 2007. Gwyn incorporates a variety of techniques into her massage treatments including: Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, deep tissue massage, joint mobilizations, hydrotherapy, and remedial exercises.

Samantha Eibensteiner
Samantha began her exploration of the human form by studying the brain at the University of British Columbia. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology and then continued on to graduate school to examine how the brain processes information. Upon completion of her Masters in Psychology, Samantha wanted a more comprehensive understanding of the body and worked in the health field for 6 years. It is at this time that she discovered her true passion; Massage Therapy. She graduated from Utopia Academy’s Faculty of Massage Therapy program in 2010 and is an active registrant of the College of Massage Therapists of B.C.
Her approach to therapy is to identify and treat the source of pain or dysfunction. She is concerned with bringing balance to the body in order to bring an end to discomfort. By working with muscle tissue, fascia, the nervous system, ligaments, organs and bones, Samantha aims to bring stability and relief to problem areas. She still has an enthusiasm for research and in 2010 won first prize in the Massage Therapy Association’s Clinical Case Report Award.
Learning continues to be a passion for Sam. Since 2012 she has taught Neurology to future RMTs at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. She strives to pass on a love of learning to her students and works hard to make the course as inspiring and as up to date as she can.
Her own continuing education in massage therapy has focused on Visceral Manipulation, Fascial Release Techniques and Cranial Sacral Therapy.
